Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure that removes fat from discrete areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction works best in specific areas of fatty deposits that proper diet and exercise has not been able to eliminate.

Patients that have lost a great deal of weight are generally candidates for a body lift and not liposuction alone, as liposuction is performed on discrete areas of fatty deposits and it does not eliminate the loose skin.

Candidates for liposuction are healthy with good elasticity to their skin. Women typically have liposuction on the abdomen, thighs, hips and knees; men typically have liposuction on their love handles, abdomen and enlarged breasts (gynecomastia).
